Andy Whiting

Andy is a senior consultant, qualified accountant and holder of a master's degree in Business Administration. Since starting as a Regional Finance Trainee with the South West Thames Regional Health Authority Andy has gained a wide range of experience within both public and private healthcare. He spent 12 years working in NHS financial and operational management in mental health and acute healthcare Trusts. He then joined the Priory Group, a large provider of private mental heath care, initially as a Deputy Hospital Director before moving on to become Head of Operational Accounting and a member of Priory Group's Executive Management Team.
Andy's portfolio of work includes market analysis, marketing strategies and plans, new business development, business planning and budgeting, preparation of business cases, estate strategies, financial due diligence and viability, demand and capacity management, and the implementation of cost control programmes.
Andy has also worked with a number of successful Foundation Trust applicants to develop and critique their applications, and has advised Strategic Health Authorities on applicant's state of readiness for Foundation Trust status. He is Finnamore's lead on market assessments. Andy's private sector experience is particularly relevant in supporting existing and prospective Foundation Trusts where the financial regime is more closely aligned to that of the commercial world.
