Bruce Finnamore

Bruce is the Managing Director of Finnamore Management Consultants.
His main areas of interest are strategic change and organisation development. He has directed and managed a wide range of assignments for clients in all parts of the NHS. Bruce is actively engaged in the Systems Reform agenda. He has worked extensively with Foundation Trusts, including co-founding the Foundation Trust Network, as well as working on a number of PCT development programmes. He has directed a number of major complex business cases, including PFI components; led our work on service and organisational reconfiguration; directed strategic reviews of a number of health communities and supported a number of long term organisation development programmes.
He is currently working with a number of Boards and top Executive Teams of SHAs, PCTs and Trusts to link strategic change with substantial service improvement. His work is increasingly emphasising the importance of partnership working across the NHS, other statutory agencies, and independent organisations. Bruce is known for his excellent facilitation skills and is highly experienced in working in sensitive and political environments. He is the co-founder and Director of The Health Works - a consultancy focusing on helping health sector clients implement major change and operational services improvement programmes.
Bruce has spent thirty years in health services management in both the public and private sectors. Originally a National Management Trainee, he spent four years at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, was Chief Executive of a private hospital in central London, and was then recruited by an international firm of management consultants. He has been a management consultant for twenty years, the last fifteen of which have been with Finnamore Management Consultants. Bruce has completed the Senior Executive Programme at the London Business School, focusing on strategic change and innovation.
