Carolyn Roper
BSc (Hons)
Carolyn has led and delivered performance improvement work across most of the operational functions of NHS Acute Hospital Trusts. She has significant experience of challenging processes and engaging staff in transformational programmes.
Carolyn has considerable experience of service improvement in a health care setting. She has extensive knowledge of service improvement tools and methods, blended with an inclusive approach that allows her to interact with all levels of staff, crucial when assessing or designing any operational processes to support efficient operations. Recent projects have included implementing a benefits realisation programme, working closely with Trust staff to coach and transfer skills to them and; reviewing emergency pathway processes in a large acute trust, identifying opportunities for improvement, specifically focusing on patient flow and discharge management.
Carolyn is a graduate of The University of Liverpool, where she studied Human Movement Science. She has undertaken research projects on the subject of the effectiveness of weight reduction methods and worked as a physiological tester of childhood fitness on The University of Bristol 'Children of the 90s' research programme.
Prior to joining Finnamore Management Consultants in 2008, she was a consultant in the health consultancy practice at a Big 4 accountancy firm. Carolyn began her career with the Audit Commission as a Value for Money graduate trainee, and has wide-ranging experience of consulting in the health care setting and across other public sector organisations. In addition during a sabbatical, Carolyn volunteered in Sri Lanka, working in a children's home in the capital Columbo.
