Clare specialises in change management and has supported a number of whole health economy and individual organisations undertake comprehensive service and organisation reviews. These reviews have involved working with SHAs, NHS Trusts, PCTs, Local Authorities, Ambulance Trusts and members of the public. Key outputs from these projects have included the development of joint strategies, clinical service strategies, new service models, new organisation arrangements, strategic outline and business cases and organisation development programmes, which support new ways of working.
Clare has recently supported Trusts in Portsmouth and Chichester in developing integrated services and the local health community in Devon to undertake a strategic review to identify commissioning priorities. This latter project involved an assessment of the local population, their health needs, service utilisation and expenditure and drawing comparisons across Devon and England.
Clare is currently leading a Service Improvement programme, which forms part of a Co-creating Health Initiative, funded by the Health Foundation. The aim of the Initiative is to improve outcomes for people living with a long term condition. This Initiative involves working with eight local health communities across the UK.
Clare has over 20 years' health service experience. Prior to joining Finnamore Management Consultants she held a number of senior NHS posts, managing acute services, mental health and services for the elderly. Most of these posts involved the review and implementation of major service and organisation reconfigurations. Examples include centralisation of maternity, A&E and mental health services and merger of the former Bloomsbury and Islington mental health units into a single organisation.
