Stuart Turnock
BA (Hons), M.Sc (Econ)
Stuart is a Managing Consultant at Finnamore Management Consultants. He has been a consultant for seven years and was a Director with Serco SDC Consulting for nearly six years. Prior to that he was at the Audit Commission where he led their national work on community care and older people's services, and his work had a significant impact on policy and service development. Before that he worked for both health and local authorities. His academic background is as a medical sociologist and he still holds a particular interest in inequalities and health.
He specialises in strategic reviews, service modernisation, model of care review, capacity planning, whole System reviews and work with local authorities and the voluntary sector and in work with private health providers.
He has substantial experience of health and social care and has worked at all levels of the NHS, with local government social services, with voluntary sector bodies and with a number of private healthcare providers.
He has led a number of major reviews, for example in Scotland, Northern England and the Midlands - many resulting in agreement to a significant reshaping, modernisation and reconfiguration of services. His work with the private sector has helped profitably develop and extend many services through market analysis, business case development and whole hospital, specialty and service reviews - many with high profile, large London providers. He has also successfully helped private operators in their business plans to secure work with the NHS. He has also worked with NHS Private Patients Units.
